The overall aim of the project is to design and develop a real-time user interface (UI) to allow immediate view of a road profile from the sensor device.

The overall aim of the project is to design and develop a real-time user interface (UI) to allow immediate view of a road profile from the sensor device. The UI is envisaged to highlight points of interests (POIs), based on data streamed from the sensor device. This could be in the form of further ‘markers’ embedded within the stored XML data/log.

Desired Business Outcomes:

  1. To design and develop a real-time user interface (UI) to allow immediate view of road profile to the engineer.
  2. To highlight and store points of interests (POIs) based on analytics of data captured
  3. To provide a summary and report at the end of the road surface trial

The final outcome from the project will enable the company to monitor road profile test in real time and a structured outcome to the reporting mechanisms as well as providing a timeline view of the road profile tests. If this was achieved it would:

  1. Allow for the more effective visual representation of each road tests in real-time
  2. Real-time identification on the profile for road surfaces
  3. Integration of RDS, video and map services
  4. Enhanced Health & Safety of site technicians
