BDH is intending to enter the emerging TeleHealth and Assisted living arena. The existing iCase integration of wireless human potential sensors with eye tracking is opening up many commercial opportunities.

BDH is intending to enter the emerging TeleHealth and Assisted living arena. The existing iCase integration of wireless human potential sensors with eye tracking is opening up many commercial opportunities. However, the market place is extremely dynamic and real-time data monitoring for mass home TeleHealth & Assisted living requires a platform and not a closed loop system.
The principal aim of this project to overcome the closed-loop limitations is the integration of a variety of wireless sensors tested by BDH and integrated into the University of Hertfordshire’s InterHome and SASH platform. This successful proof-of-concept provides innovative technology hardware and a software platform for the integration of BDH iCase expertise in the area of wireless sensors for a TeleHealth and Assisted Living platform that will allow global commercial exploitation.

The following were the outcomes achieved from the K4Bi:

  1. Integration of existing wireless brain & eye tracking sensing expertise from existing BioDigitalHealth / University of Hertfordshire iCase project within the University of existing InterHome data platform for a dedicated Health / assisted Living channel.

Existing expertise from UH SmartLab enabled:

  1. Integration of gesture and speech recognition for human computer interaction within a specially developed interface to cater for patients with disability, including heart rate sensing.
  2. Aggregation of data/information to a Smart Care Service Layer.
  3. Further design and development of Smart Care Service Layer (Cloud based smart care service layer developed and integrated with InterHome API) to record profile data for individual users within the system.
